Who we are

Slate & Cedar is a boutique pre-sale preparation service specialising in the considered cosmetic preparation of residential homes for market. We work with homeowners and agents who want the preparation phase handled properly, without noise or unnecessary involvement.

We take full ownership of the process. From defining what is worth doing to coordinating trades and overseeing quality, our role is to ensure every decision is intentional and every step happens in the right order. Homes are prepared to be ready for campaign, with a fixed-price outcome that removes uncertainty and protects our clients from avoidable stress.

We work with a carefully selected network of trades who meet the same standards we hold ourselves to. These relationships have been built over many years and are based on proven quality, reliability, and trust. Robert is highly selective about who is engaged on our projects, working only with trades whose workmanship he knows firsthand and is comfortable standing behind. This ensures every home is prepared with consistency, care, and an uncompromising level of finish.

We take on a limited number of projects at a time so that each home receives the attention it deserves. Our focus is on quality, discretion, and delivering a result we are proud to stand behind.

Our Process

We believe great pre-sale preparation is as much about what not to do as what to do. Our process is designed to remove guesswork, reduce stress, and deliver a clear, fixed-price outcome.

1. Assessment
Every engagement begins with a pre-paid, on-site assessment. We review the home through a market lens, identify what will meaningfully enhance presentation, and provide clear guidance on scope, sequencing, and budget suitability.

2. Scoping & Fixed Price
Where we proceed, we define a tailored scope of cosmetic works and coordination required to prepare the home for sale. This is delivered as a fixed price, giving clients certainty and eliminating the need to manage individual trades or decisions.

3. Coordination & Delivery
We manage all approved works end-to-end, including coordinating trades, overseeing quality, and ensuring each stage occurs in the correct sequence. Throughout the process, clients receive clear communication and calm oversight, without being drawn into day-to-day management.

4. Final Sign-Off
Once preparation is complete, we conduct a final review to ensure the home is ready for campaign. Our involvement concludes only when the property meets the standard we are comfortable putting our name to.
